On SD 50005.08, the Manticore was sent to Outpost 918 to discover why it had gone silent. It found the entire population dead from an epidemic and was able to follow an ion trail of the last ship to arrive at the outpost. It led Manticore to Xerxeria VI, the site of a long-abandoned fleet base. Meanwhile, the USS Babylon was called in to "santize" Outpost 918.
