On SD 49905.31, the Manticore departed Starbase 306 with a special visitor in the just-enhanced brig. The creature was a human that had been genetically altered in massive ways and he was to be left at Remulak Base, at the Galactic Rim. Atragon-9 was "lured" to the brig and held captive for hours by the creature. It released A9 and then used his knowledge to access the ship's systems and destroy the Remulak Base before it could be transferred there. The crew powered down the ship and changed all passwords, while A9 underwent a mind meld with Sovak to clear out the influences of the creature.
