The Manticore docked at Starbase 222 along with the badly damaged USS Andromeda. The Andromeda was a tri-nacelle Galaxy class ship that was experimenting with a Borg technology of Liquid Anti-Matter (LAM). Manticore was called to rescue the Andromeda and found the ship floating dead in space, amid a cloud of expelled LAM on SD 49806.29. The crew of the Andromeda were suffering adverse psychological effects from the LAM exposure and the attempt, by Manticore, to clear the area of leaked LAM led to an explosion of the Andromeda's engines.
