Starbase 9 has long been the home of the Manticore. Over time, it was decided to that the ship needed a repair base, away from curious eyes, so it was converted into a fully-autonomous and automated repair station that is designated soley for the use of the Manticore.
On SD 49909.06, the Manticore returned for repairs after losing a warp nacelle and pylon in Sector 27.
On SD 50008.21, the Manticore returned for repairs after battling two planetoid-vessels that were driving asteroids toward Sector 001 and causing a lot of damage to Utopia Planitia.
On SD 50107.09, the Manticore was towed to Starbase 9, following the encounter with the Mah and the Sim-In-A-Box. Main power, propulsion, weapons, transport and sensor systems all had to be repaired. This is also when Consul General Elaine Jaffe steps down as CG, to be replaced by Melville.
On SD 50208.12, the Manticore docked at Starbase 9 to repair damage it received after towing the USS Overrated and having spent time on Omicron Sigma 9. This was also the first simulation game run on STSF.
On SD 50505.09, the Manticore was towed there for repairs, the standard crew was removed and Manticore's crew became the crew operating the starbase. This was when the Augmented Automation system was put in place and, shortly after, the Federation Council had a meeting on the station. Colonel Wendover, the Council's Security Chief, came onboard the Starbase with his teams and made major renovations and upgrades to the base. On SD 50508.08, Consul General Jaffe tested Manticore's crew readiness by staging an "attack" by unknown forces on the base, during the Federation Council meeting. Many of Manticore's crew were placed in mortal danger and, after it was all revealed to be a test, Atragon-9 faced her down and struck her, in front of the rest of the Council. This began a period of time when Atragon-9 was no longer Manticore's commanding officer and Sovak was placed in charge of the ship.
On SD 50512.12, the Manticore docked at the starbase following their encounter with the mysterious gravitational orb in the Olyoxynfree Sector that had destroyed the USS Marco and the USS Polo.
On SD 50901.07, the Manticore was towed to Starbase 9, following its return from the Andromeda Galaxy and it's collision with the invasion blockade ship. A swift deployment Black Ops team, INDIA Team, came onboard to assist the base staff and the ship's crew in making repairs.
