On SD 50201.14, the Manticore rendezvoused with the USS Yalta in the Ydam system. Earlier, the Manticore was called to investigate the hostile activities of the barely warp-capable society on the planet of Ydam. Without provocation, the Ydam ships fired on Manticore and then the Ydam immediately demanded the ship's surrender (even though the Manticore was completely unharmed). Following a further altercation and Manticore having to fire on the locals, one Ydam ship was mortally wounded, so Manticore transported their crew onboard. The Ydam crew demanded to be treated as prisoners of war and that crew was handed off to the the Federation Diplomatic corps onboard the USS Yalta.
