On SD 50009.18, the Manticore was sent to the Yad system to observe the star there going Super Nova. A civilization was found on the 4th planet, well within the blast radius. Manticore could not evacuate the population in time, not to mention violating the Prime Directive. We stayed and observed the celestial event. As the ship was bathed in solar energy from the explosion, we also detected an organic energy pulse from the 4th planet. This caused the crew to begin to shrink in size. The ship was anchored to a subspace beacon and waited for rescue/cure, as the crew soon became to small to operate the ship. The USS Carpathia answered our beacon and, with help from our science team, was able to break the biological bubble that had surrounded the ship and caused our shrinking.
